Creator: Ember Knight
Director: Bobby McCoy
An Instructional Etiquette Series
Cult web series THE EMBER KNIGHT SHOW is an instructional etiquette lesson plan that quickly devolves into a stream-of-consciousness romp through its host's worst impulses. Made by a group of friends for less than $8K, the show seamlessly blends guerrilla filmmaking, handmade sets, animation, and musical breakdowns into something bubbling with style and wit.
Quoted as a mashup of “Mr. Rogers and Jackass” (Garage Magazine), Knight oscillates between kids TV host and bitter artist- preaching the importance of listening while failing to do so, or sitting in a lobotomy chair trying to remove a single lie without losing her self-proclamation as King of LA. Submerging themes of resentment, anger, and jealousy in a soup of DIY chaos, it's a lighthearted and spunky series about how to behave in a big ol' messy world.
